Hyams Beach to Cunjurong Point

30 km (1274 km ) 6 hr

Another 'can't take my eyes off you' kind of day. Magic weather, lots more extraordinary South Coast beaches, headlands and amazing rockshelves, connecting trails where needed and just a general, all round perfect day of coastal sauntering (again). The beaches on the southern side of Jervis Bay are all incredible, with Murrays Beach a particular standout. Technically these beaches are in the ACT not NSW - but they are some of the best quiet beaches on the coast.

Once I reached the southern side of Sussex Inlet, Cudmirrah Beach was the first ‘NSW’ sandfall of the day. Small Kirbys Beach next followed by beautiful Berrara.

Berrara Creek was looking superb, its crystal water requiring a knee-waist deep wade across to South Berrara Beach and then a rest stop at Rockys Retreat - a lovingly little hand-crafted spot of repose.

Mermaid Pool and Monument Beach provided ever more exquisite-ness before an easy crossing of Nerrindillah Creek and then out to Flat Rock Ledge and Flat Rock Beach.

I took a short headland trail around Dee Beach to wonderful Washerwomans Beach. Then over to Bendalong Point via Boat Harbour Beach and quite bit of time to enjoy its many 'tame' stingrays.

Bendalong Headland, Shannons Point and Red Head followed and then the trail via One Tree Beach to Backshot Cave (I had to check Urban Dictionary after the google reviews made no sense - clearly I'm not up on the latest slang  ).

Inyadda Beach and beautifully named and located Manyana Beach and Manyana Back Beach next before arriving at Cunjurong Point and sparkling Green Island where my support crew were spending the day on the iconic surf break.

Such a great day's walk. No tricky bits and just a pile on of coastal perfection. Highly recommended.

Tomorrow will be from Cunjurong to Ulladulla - ever onwards and southwards!
