Callala Bay to Hyams Beach
15km (1325 km) 5 hr
Today the sunshine and blue sky were back baby, so it was a full slip, slop, slap before heading out for sunrise over Callala Bay and incredible Callala Beach - the first in today's string of fully and absolutely and completely perfect white sand beaches. You can't ask for more. On a day like today Jervis Bay is, simply, paradise - just an enchantingly magical part of the world.
Currambene Creek looked an easy crossing in the calm sunny weather at a fullish tide but I was lucky enough to get a ride around so didn't need to break out the pack raft just yet (but Sussex Inlet tomorrow and Lake Conjola and Narawallee on Friday...)
So it was then Huskisson (Husky to be Aussie correct) and ever more white sand perfection from there all the way to Hyams Beach
Every single beach along the White Sands Walk deserves an Oscar. If you like your water calm and crystal clear, your sand snowy-white and your sea views sensational then all of Jervis Bay fits the bill. You can walk all the way on beaches and rockshelves or use the well-made pathways and tracks behind the beaches. 10/10.
From the Currambene Creek crossing it was past the lovely Husky pub and then Shark Net Beach, Moona Moona Beach (could be your happy place Stevie Matt and Patrick Matthews ) and Huskisson Beach.
Next was a shallow wade across Moona Moona Creek (there's also a bridge 200m inland) and then Sailors Grave Beach and long, lovely Collingwood Beach all the way to Vincentia.
From there Orion Beach and Barfleur Beach and enchanting Plantation Point. Once around the point, it was Nelsons Beach, Blenheim Beach, Greenfield Beach and Chinamans Beach before arriving at Little Hyams Beach and 'Big' Hyams Beach.
Delighted to then catch up with a couple of long time Brunei friends, Flordeliza Lopez and Russell Frettingham , for a long lunch at the Hyam Hungry Goose.
Just cannot believe how stupendously gorgeous Jervis Bay was today - just another gob-smacking treasure on the NSW coast. My beachy heart is full!
