Cunjurong Point to Ulladulla
13 km (1354 km) 5 hr
Started out from Cunjurong Point today. The Green Island break was looking good but for me it was walking, not surfing, time.
Lucky me, the entrance to Lake Conjola was closed by a sand berm a few days ago so it was just a long stroll down the perfect strip of sand along Conjola Beach to Buckleys Point. A few dolphins were cruising around while I had my first swim of the day - always a thrill.
At Buckleys Point I headed to the small trail behind the point for a shady bushwalk to Narawallee Creek and Narawallee Inlet. The inlet was running deep today, so it was time to crack out the ruckraft for the swim across to Narrawallee Beach. Easy enough crossing, but you do need to be mindful of the current, the soft sand and the cone shells in the shallows.
From Narawallee it was a pleasant wind-up for Stage 11 past Bernie’s Rock and Bannisters Point to gorgeous Mollymook and around to Ulladulla Head with a return to Mollymook for a glorious finale swim.
Thanks to my wave chasing support crew Kiaran Green and Howard Treisman for making the logistics a whole lot smoother over the past 5 days.
Looking forward to Stage 12 and what should be another brilliant bit of NSW coastline.
Thanks for following my coastal saunter - happy wanderings one and all...
